Unique Features: This gym has state of the art facilities for bouldering, top rope, and fitness in general. It also features climbing artifacts and antique gear that are on display for members.

Personal Rating: I give this gym a V11 rating.

If you hadn’t noticed by the rating, this is one of my all-time favorite gyms. It’s modern, well laid-out, and has great amenities for members.

My favorite part of the gym is the “museum” section, which is located near the bathrooms. This area has antique climbing gear, photographs that show the history of climbing, and other great historical artifacts. It’s great to see these displayed for members to enjoy. The owner of the gym specifically displays old bolts, pictures, and guide books for The Gunks, which is a well-known spot enjoyed by many in the Tri-State area. This is a great way for new climbers to learn more about outdoor climbing and gain respect for their local crag.

Along with this, the gym is one of the most beautiful and modern gyms I’ve ever been to. The gym is laid out so that it feels open and airy, without sacrificing space for climbs and other equipment. There are large windows around the gym that let in natural sunlight and help the space to feel even bigger. Between bouldering and ropes, there are thousands of feet of routes available for climbers. The fitness gym is a bit on the small side, but there is more equipment across the street at The Factory.

There’s a lounge in the middle of the gym that has a mini fridge, several couches, tables, and a TV. It also has a trad practice board, where members can practice using nuts and cams to better understand equipment placement. The gear store is one of the largest I’ve seen in a gym, and includes everything from shoes to clothes to the latest and greatest climbing tools.

Overall, I’m extremely impressed with this gym, and it’s only half of what the membership (or day pass) offers climbers. I would highly recommend this gym to all levels of climbers, but especially to high level climbers that are looking for a top-notch facility that will provide them with all the tools they need for training and high-level climbing.
